A & Z (A & Z Chain Co) (USA) was founded by Carl Anshen and Saul Zietlin of Providence.
The company was engaged in the creation of jewelry in a classic style. Throughout their history, brooches-bows only briefly went out of fashion, returning to the top of popularity again and again. Many well-known brands such as Chanel, Tiffany & Co., Garrard have produced bow-shaped jewelry.
Most of the jewelry from A & Z was made with gold plating.
The company was later merged into the Hayward Company, which still exists today.
A & Z products were marked with an indication of the carat of gold.
