Alexey Pomelnikov took part in the reconstruction of the Amber Room, taught the basics of artistic metal processing at the Mukhinsky School, collaborated with the Hermitage and the Russian Museum.
In 2017, in St. Petersburg, a personal collection of jewelry disappeared from the apartment of Alexei Pomelnikov.
For many years, he bought masterpieces of past masters for his collection – primarily as examples of outstanding jewelry technology, on which he could train the workers of his workshop. In total, the collection included about 158 items made of gold, platinum and precious stones.
About 243 more exhibits are products of the authorship of Alexei Pomelnikov himself and other contemporary authors. More than 50 items are protected by patents in the name of the jeweler.
It is impossible to say exactly how much the collection costs, since the evaluation of works of jewelry art cannot be absolute. According to Alexei Pomelnikov’s estimates, the amount cannot be less than 500 million rubles. Possibly much higher.
