
The Castlecliff jewelry brand is an American brand founded in New York by designers Clifford First and Joseph Bobley. The brand name consists of part of the surname of one of the founders and the word “castle”, which emphasizes the peculiarity of the jewelry and its palace origin.

Foundation
1918 is the year of the foundation of Castlecliff Inc.. Initially, the designers worked for other companies, but in 1941 they launched the Castlecliff jewelry brand.
1945 – the first collection of jewelry was released. The main designer was William Markle, who created jewelry in all styles, from Gothic, Renaissance to Art Deco.

Development
Until 1941, the company was engaged in the manufacture of jewelry by orders of other companies.
Since 1941, the company began to offer jewelry as an independent company. Its own Castlecliff brand with a copyright sign appeared.
In 1970-1972, the company collaborated with designer Larry Vrba, who created several collections for Castlecliff.

In 1977, the company became part of Carnegie Industries Co..
In the late 1980s, the company was transferred to Lucien Piccard Industries, which also included the firm of Pierre Cardin.

Collections
In 1954, the company released a series of animalistic bracelets – jaguar, fox, elephant. Each animal had its own clip.
In the 1960s, the brand produced brooches with floral motifs, animal figures and organic shapes.

Heritage
Castlecliff jewelry is highly sought after by collectors of antique and vintage jewelry. The distinctive feature is high quality, thanks to which even jewelry made more than 50 years ago has been preserved in a collectible condition.
Today, the Castlecliff brand continues to exist, but produces jewelry under the brand name “Castlecliff Jewelry Div. of Lucien Piccard”.
