Ceard was a Scottish jewellery manufacturer that operated from the late 1960s to the early 1970s.
**Brand Origins**
The company behind the brand originated in Glasgow and was founded by a group of talented craftsmen. Among them were graduates of the Glasgow School of Art, including head designer John Forsyth, as well as Jimmy Ciel and Bill Michael. They specialised in creating jewellery from pewter and silver.

The name “Ceard” comes from the Gaelic word for “craftsman” or “artisan”. Each piece was hallmarked with “Ceard”, the brand name and the words “Made in Scotland”.
The company went out of business in the late 1970s. Today, Ceard jewellery is prized as a rare vintage piece and collectible.

**Styles and Features**
The Ceard brand is known for its following collections:
- * «The Country Series» – a series including pewter pendants with images of plants.
- * «Modernist Collection» – a collection of jewelry made in the spirit of modernism.

The design was inspired by the picturesque corners of Scotland and its rich nature.
