Coro was founded in 1900 (according to other sources, in 1901) by entrepreneurs Emmanuel Cohn and Karl Rosenberger. For almost 20 years, the company did not bear the name Coro, but was called Cohn & Rosenberger. In 1919, the founders rebranded, changing the name to a more memorable, short and sonorous one – Coro.
In 1969, 51% of Coro shares became the property of Richton, Intl. Corp.. In 1971, the Corel trademark was registered.
