Robert De Mario founded his company in New York in 1945. De Mario products are characterized by a high standard of quality, painstaking handwork and meticulous attention to detail. The company has never produced large quantities, so De Mario jewelry is rare and highly prized by collectors of vintage costume jewelry. In the early 60s, a joint project between De Mario and Stanley Hagler was considered, but this never happened.

In 1965 the company ceased to exist.
The uniqueness of the carefully selected jewelry led DeMario to a catalog of rare and collectible vintage stamps, a jewelry line that remains popular today. Despite the high demand, the line was not marked, but in 1967 the partners decided to give the jewelry line a name. So Juliana was born. This name lasted for about 2 years, but became very popular among antique jewelry collectors. There was no marking on the decoration itself, and Yuliana’s name was written on a separate paper tag, which has not survived.
