The history of the Elle brand begins with the release of the first issue of ELLE magazine in Paris in 1945. It was founded by French journalist Helen Lazareff, who returned to Paris after several years working for glossy fashion magazines in New York.

ELLE’s uniqueness lay in its coverage of all aspects of women’s lives, erasing social and class differences between them and democratizing fashion. The magazine quickly gained recognition among women and became an integral part of the French lifestyle.

Some subsequent milestones in the brand’s development:
1985 — Launch of the international edition of ELLE magazine.
2003 — Creation of the ELLE Jewelry brand.
2008 — Creation of the ELLE Time & Jewelry brand, which produces jewelry and watches.
