Founded in 1974 by Fernando Ronchi, a family jeweler, Fernando Originals Inc. was founded in Providence, Rhode Island, known as the center of jewelry in the United States.
The company’s products reached their peak popularity in the 1980s.
Production ceased in 1996.
The pieces were crafted using gold-toned metal and enamel, with sparkling stones being discarded. Pieces in the abstract style characteristic of 1980s fashion were most sought after.
The primary product line included clip-on earrings; pendants, necklaces, and brooches were less common.
