The French costume jewelry brand Movitex was founded in 1974, being a trademark of a company created back in 1947. The original name Mo-Vi-Tex combined the first letters of the founders’ surnames – Moran and Visier, as well as three letters denoting “material”. Movitex products were produced from the 1970s to the 1980s. Nowadays, costume jewelry with a recognizable design, handmade in the 1970s and 1980s and bearing the Movitex stamp, is extremely difficult to find.
