Fuller Brush initially produced not costume jewelry, but commemorative, award, and anniversary pins.

The company was founded by Alfred Carl Fuller in 1906 in Hartford, Connecticut. Fuller began with direct sales of various types of brushes, including hairbrushes with a lifetime warranty.

1968 – the company was acquired by Consolidated Foods (now Sara Lee Corporation).
1991 – the company was transferred to private ownership.
1994 – became a subsidiary of CPAC Inc.
From December 2012 to December 2017 – the company was owned and operated by David Sabin and Victory Park Capital.
Since January 2018 – the Fuller Brush name is owned and operated by Galaxy Brush LLC, located in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Today, the company produces a wide range of products, including cleaning and personal care products, vitamins, and kitchenware. Fuller Brush does not produce costume jewelry; production ceased in the 1990s.

Since Alfred Fuller’s death, the company has registered more than 80 trademarks, including two jewelry trademarks, but both of them, Quality That Shows (1981–1989) and Fuller Fashion (1982–1991), are no longer active.
Fuller Brush is known for its independent salesmen who sold products door-to-door. In popular culture, they are known as the “Fuller Brush Man.”

During World War II, the company supplied the nation’s brush needs: it produced brushes for cleaning guns and special Oriental pig bristles used to sew military uniforms. In 1945, Fuller’s Hartford plant was awarded the U.S. Army Medal for Outstanding Achievement in the Production of War Supplies.
