
H. Pomerantz Co. is a jewelry brand of the American company H. Pomerantz & Co. (New York). It produced jewelry, mainly brooches, with the markings “H. Pomerantz & Co. NY”, “H. Pomerantz Inc. NY”, “H. Pomerantz Co.” and “H. Pomerantz”.

History
The founder of the brand is Herman Pomerantz (1901-1967). He came to business in the 1920s, worked for some time with his partner Max Silverman.
The earliest jewelry is brooches with a C-shaped “open” clasp.
In the 1930s and early 1940s, Pomerantz patented several original designs.

In addition to producing costume jewelry, the company produced unusual decorative belts made of metal, large belt buckles made of various materials, including bakelite. It was known for its large-scale production of buttons, especially women’s cuff buttons.
Herman Pomerantz was involved in the design and production of jewelry and accessories until the mid-1950s, although the company continued to produce products until the 1960s. He passed away in 1967.

Collections
H. Pomerantz Co. jewelry is a rare collectible find. For example, an antique brooch-order of a dome design in the form of a stylized Maltese cross with the marking “H. Pomerantz & Co. NY” on the back.

Heritage
H. Pomerantz Co. is no longer in production. Jewelry from this brand is rare, with some pieces fetching over a thousand dollars at auction.
