Bogoff (USA) – founded by a native of Poland, Henry Bogoff. Having moved to the USA in 1914 at the age of 16, Henry by the end of the 1920s. organized Spear Novelty Company. The company produced belts, buttons and other accessories with rhinestone trim. The production quickly became successful and the accumulated experience was used to open Jewels by Bogoff in 1940.

Over time, Henry Bogoff became one of the country’s leading designers and manufacturers of costume jewelry. Henry was involved in the development of style and design of costume jewelry. In addition to his original creations, Henry’s exceptional memory allowed him to visit the showrooms of high-end jewelers, memorize interesting precious pieces, and then reproduce them in costume jewelry with rock crystal trim. Costume jewelry from Bogoff had an excellent reputation due to the very high quality of workmanship; each piece of jewelry had a lifetime guarantee.

After the end of World War II and the country’s almost insatiable demand for luxury goods, Jewels by Bogoff flourished. The brand advertised in fashion magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, and for many years remained the third largest manufacturer of costume jewelry in the United States, behind Trifari and Coro.
The company flourished until Henry’s sudden death in 1958. His wife Yvette tried to save the business, but changing consumer tastes and the death of the designer led to the closure of the business in the early 60s.
