The American company Jose & Maria Barrera was founded in 1980 by a Spanish couple who moved to New York from South Texas. Today, their jewelry can be purchased only in the largest and most famous fashion stores in the world at quite decent prices.
Vintage pieces created two or three decades ago cost more “reasonably”, but they also rise in price from year to year, since the number of vintage pieces on the free market is very limited.
Jose & Maria Barrera are currently designing luxury jewelry for American luxury brand Neiman Marcus ($200 – $1500).
On the reverse side of the product there is the “Barrera” marking, which confirms the authenticity of the product and indicates its belonging to one of the most famous designers of the 20th century.
