Jan Max is a brand that produced costume jewelry in the 1970s.
**Origin**
Jan-Max Inc. was founded in 1970 in Trenton, New Jersey, USA.

**Design features and materials used**
Jan Max jewelry was distinguished by a style that imitated stained glass, borrowing from East Asian art and Art Nouveau. Paper, plastic, dark metal, as well as alloys resembling gold, bright enamel and crystals were used in the manufacture of accessories.
Each item had a manufacturer’s mark – “1971 Jan Max” with the author’s symbol.

**Completion of production**
In the mid-1970s, Jan-Max Inc. closed. Due to the short period of its existence, the brand has hardly gained wide recognition, and today Jan Max jewelry is a great rarity on the antique jewelry market.
