Jean Painleve (1902 – 1989) – photographer and filmmaker, specializing in underwater fauna, the founder of documentary science cinema. He shot his most famous films, such as: “Vampire” (1945), “Killers in Fresh Water” (1947), ” Sea Ballerinas (1956), The Love Life of an Octopus (1967), Acera, or Witch Dances (1972).
