The international jewelry brand Boodles was originally founded by the already famous masters – Liverpool jewelers Boodle and Duntorn. In 1798, these two jewelers decided to join forces, talent and secret techniques, and now the Boodles brand is considered the recognized standard of English jewelry art. In 1910, the company changed its owner, it became the Wenwright family, which bought the production from Boodle & Dunthorne. The change of management brought a new stream to the company’s jewelry policy, and already in 1926 the jewelry brand established its own office on Lord Street, where it remains to this day.
In the post-war years, the Boodles Company faced difficult times, with the death of Henry Wainwright, the former director of the firm, and then his son Herbert followed. However, the Wenwrights had another son, who graduated from World War II as a captain, in that ill-fated 1945 he served in Burma. However, after the tragedy that befell the family, Captain Anthony returned to the city and headed the family business. War trophies became the main decorations of the Boodles company during the war years.
But the Boodles brand did not remain on the sidelines for long after the death of the main characters of the company, in 1947 the company was commissioned to make an octagonal silver stand for Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, it was planned that the stand should hold the royal couple’s wedding cake. After this event, the brand not only took a leading position in England again, but also began to expand: in 1960, a new store was opened in Chester, followed by 1982 and Manchester.
1992 was again marked for the company by a change of leadership, the sons of Captain Anthony. Michael and Nicholas, became the head of the brand. Michael threw all his energy into the development of the commercial side of the Boodles brand. And Nicholas turned out to be a born designer and was responsible for the creative ideas and direction of the company. During the “power” of the sons of Anthony, the company opened many new boutiques, including in the building of the Royal Exchange and the famous Harrods department store.
The Boodles company really became successful, but the management understood that in order to continue to conquer the world market, something needs to be changed. At first, the emphasis was on the use of elite, pure and large gemstones. The style of the brand’s jewelry collections has also changed, from classic jewelers to modern forms. The appearance of the brand’s boutiques has also undergone a change, on which the famous designer Eva Jiřichny worked.
These changes were to the liking of buyers, and soon the jewelry of the Boodles brand began to win awards and prizes at international competitions. The business continues to grow and is now the official jewelery house of the Windsor royal family. Boodles jewelry is luxury, uniqueness, uniqueness and style. The chess pieces are created of gold and platinum, encrusted with 748 diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and pearls. And the board itself is made of yellow and white gold and studded with diamonds.
