St. Petersburg jewelry company “Akimov” was founded in 1997 by the artist, jeweler and technologist Sergei Anatolyevich Akimov. He developed a technological chain for the production of silver jewelry with relief miniatures, which gave life to a new artistic style that has become an integral part of the jewelry art of the Orthodox Church.
Since its foundation, the company has been specializing in the production of highly artistic Orthodox jewelry. These are crosses, icons, encolpions, rings, bracelets with relief images of saints, made in the technique of casting from gold and silver with gilding, using precious stones and enamels. The structure of the company reproduces the organizational principle of Russian jewelry firms of the 19th-20th centuries: in addition to Akimov himself, other talented Orthodox artists are also involved in the work, who retain the authorship of the things they created. Most often, Akimov acts only as the creator of technology, and personally develops the design of more complex products, such as watches.

A serious professional approach to the creation of jewelry has long brought the company international recognition: in 2002, the Akimov collection of Orthodox jewelry was awarded the first prize for quality at the European Jewelry Forum, in 2003 in Geneva it was recognized as the best on five continents.
The company has been regularly participating in exhibitions, both jewelry and Orthodox, in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia for many years. In recent years, “Akimov” is also actively involved in art exhibitions. Works created by the Akimov company were presented at the Faces of Russia exhibition in the State Duma, at the unique Moscow exhibition Modern Icon Painters of Russia, and at the personal exhibition Easter Gift in the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg.
