Jolle is an American fashion jewelry brand that produced vintage-style jewelry in the 1940s and 1950s. The brand’s products were labeled “Jolle Sterling” or simply “Jolle”.

Foundation
The brand was founded by Jack H. Appel and Lester L. Hess, who founded Hess-Appel, Inc. in New York City in 1942.
The company’s main designers were Lester Hess and freelancer George Fearn, who had previously collaborated with famous jewelry brands Karu Arke and Urie Mandle.
In 1954, Hess-Appel, Inc. and Jolle jewelry ceased to exist.

Design
The company produced jewelry in various styles, such as:
Brooches with faceted round inserts made of clear crystal and rhinestones of a rich garnet hue.
Figured jewelry in the form of people in various costumes.

Sets made of silver with gilding, for example, the “Favorite Music” set from the 40s of the last century with voluminous jewelry in the form of violins, decorated with large inserts under the amethyst.
In 1943, Lester Hess patented one of the famous designs – a pair of brooches “Russian Cossack Dancers”.

Traditionally, sterling silver with gilding, cut crystal, rhinestones, colored glass, sometimes enamel were used to create jewelry.
Collections
Jolle brand jewelry has become collectibles and is mentioned in authoritative reference books on collectible jewelry and costume jewelry.
Since the company did not exist on the market for long, antique silver and costume jewelry Jolle are rare and highly collectible.
