Lee Charlie is a renowned Navajo jewelry maker, born on May 13, 1968, in Thoreau, New Mexico. He began mastering the art of jewelry making in the early 1980s, learning from his mother, Nellie, and later passing on his skills to his son, Matthew Charlie.
Lee Charlie’s work features a wide range of subjects, including images of Native American chieftains, scenes with horses, and even model airplanes with rotating propellers. A significant number of designs draw inspiration from the natural world—winged insects, fish, amphibians, flowers, and other elements of the animal and plant world serve as sources of creative inspiration.

To create his pieces, Lee Charlie traditionally uses engraving techniques on sterling silver, complementing them with shells and vibrant shades of natural turquoise and coral.
