Leila was born in Beirut. At an early age, she became interested in jewelry. In 1968, she worked for Ed Wiener in New York. Throughout her career, Leila Tai has worked as a jewelry designer for Van Cleef & Arpels, Gemveto, as well as Trifari, Monet and other jewelry houses. But she also developed her own line of jewelry.
In 2009, Leila received many awards, among them:
New Talent Award from the American Council for Jewelry Design
Niche Award 2007,
2005 “distinguished service” award from the Society of Enamelers
