The House of Murat (Bijoux Murat, also known as Murat et Cie) is a French jewellery manufactory with a rich history and impeccable reputation. It was founded in Paris in 1847 by Charles Bertrand Murat.

Throughout its existence, the company has been manufacturing exquisite silver and gold-plated items. A significant breakthrough was the use of the signature doublé or technique — applying a thin gold coating to more affordable metals.

Jacques Louis Georges Murat (1851–1918), the founder’s eldest son, continued the development of the family business, receiving recognition and prestigious awards at specialized exhibitions. Having no offspring, he handed over the management of the company to his nephews.

According to information from the 1925 catalogue, the studio produced a variety of products: jewellery, chains, clasps, crosses, as well as cigarette cases, nail care kits, fountain pens, folding knives, commemorative badges and orders.
