Dmitry Kuznetsov from Novosibirsk. All his life was connected with jewelry and stones. He became interested in this as a child, when he spent time in the stone-cutting workshop of the Geological Institute, where his brother worked.

Member of the creative union of artists of decorative and applied arts. The author and creator of the vast majority of Silversmith jewelry. Jeweler with twenty-five years of experience.

He began his professional career on December 7, 1991, having entered one of the first jewelry productions in the city of Novosibirsk after school. The first teacher was Vladimir Mikhailovich Titov, who showed the most important thing: jewelry is a high art. After that, he learned a lot and from many.

Since 1993 he has been an independent jewelry artist, participating in professional exhibitions and competitions. Works scattered around the world in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France, Israel, USA, Japan and somewhere else.

Dmitry believes that for the first 20 years in the jewelry business he was an apprentice. And only then did he finally become who he is now – with his author’s style and baggage of skills.

Kuznetsov’s works are notable for their large size and combination of styles. The master combines three techniques – filigree, wax modeling and mokume-gane – the Japanese art of metalworking.

“I like colored stones: agate, malachite, lapis lazuli. Each stone is unique: sometimes I select them for an idea, sometimes, starting from a stone, I form an idea … And metal, first of all, silver – well, I like it. Black and white graphics are much closer to me than, for example, painting. I like this snowy metal color,” says Dmitry Kuznetsov.

After 30 years of continuous work, jeweler Dmitry Kuznetsov created his own brand Alcedo Jewelry and built a scheme of stable financial income.

But, Dmitry admits, he did not invest any big money in his business at once: the equipment appeared in the workshop gradually. In order for their own business to develop at least a little, and the workshop could be maintained, a jeweler needs to earn at least 150-200 thousand rubles a month. The creation of masterpieces worthy of Russian and world exhibitions is indispensable: one must also engage in crafts in order to earn a living. But what Dmitry considers a craft for himself, not every jeweler will repeat with the same ease.
