Samsan jewelry Manufacturing Co – From the 1930s to the present day
The history of Samsan Manufacturing Co. began in Providence, known as the center of jewelry in the United States. Its founder was Pasquale Sammartino (1895-1986).

Together with his brother, he founded the Sammartino Bros. company, but it failed during the Great Depression. After some time, Pasco decided to start a new family business.

Samsan Manufacturing Co. was a member of the New England Association of Jewelers and Silversmiths. The eldest son, Louis Sammartino, worked for the company for many years, holding the positions of designer, production manager and marketing specialist, which contributed to its prosperity. In the late 1980s, jewelry production was stopped and the company was sold. The company originally produced silver jewelry with a gold plating, which was reflected in the hallmark, which included the name “Samsan” and an indication of the gold content, such as “1/20 12k G.F.”

The copyright mark first appeared in the mid-1950s, after which the marking changed to “SA” in a square and the copyright mark in another square.
