Jewelry brands

The Star Art Jewelry Co. was founded in 1944. The company was located in Providence, Rhode Island.

In addition to the Star Art brand, the company produced jewelry under the names “Tradition” and “Jewels by Helene.”

In the 1950s, Star Art launched one of its most popular series – Jewels by Helene. The jewelry was sold in original boxes, each of which had the inscriptions “Star Art” and “Sterling Silver” and the tag “Jewels by Helene.”

For the production of jewelry, 12-14 karat gold, 925 sterling silver, natural stones, art glass, rhinestones, Austrian crystals, artificial and cultured pearls were used.

The designs of the jewellery were in keeping with the fashions of the late 1940s to 1960s: brooches and pins with floral and foliate motifs, cameos in filigree frames, bracelets with scarabs, necklace and earring sets.

The jewellery was marked with “Star Art” or “Art” inside a five-pointed star, as well as the carat of gold or the quality of silver.

In 1971, Star Art became part of Dansal Corporation, the last mention of Star Art as part of Dansal Corporation was in 1990.
