History

Weiss was founded in New York in 1942 by designer Albert Weiss, who worked for Sogo in the 1930s. During his time at Sogo, he gained invaluable experience and knowledge, which allowed him to make his company successful and famous along with the famous jewelry brands of that time. Weiss developed so rapidly that by the 1950s it had entered into a number of contracts with other large companies, hiring them as contractors.

The founder of the company immediately relied on the production of luxury accessories that could compete with jewelry. And this approach brought success: high-quality jewelry became a role model. A number of jewelry from Weiss entered the history of jewelry fashion.

Features of vintage Weiss jewelry

Flowers, berries, fruits and abstract figures became the main themes of this brand’s jewelry. All jewelry was assembled by hand.

In most of his jewelry, Weiss emphasized numerous crystals. Expensive Austrian crystals of high transparency and color definition were used, including Aurora Borealis crystals. And of course, the company became famous for its technology for the manufacture of colored enamels.

Jewelry from the Weiss collection

Weiss created expensive jewelry using all jewelry technologies. That is why the number of Weiss jewelry is initially not so large. Over the years, there has been less and less jewelry in the public domain. Exquisite design, attention to the smallest nuances, filigree drawing of elements.
