The Zina Jewelry brand story begins with designer Zina Sherman, who learned about the jewelry business as a child and fell in love with design while visiting her father’s factory in New York City.

Rather than join the family business, she chose a career in education and then a job in the television industry. This eventually took her on a journey through Western and Central Europe.
Returning to the United States, Sherman settled in Los Angeles, California. In 1984, she returned to her roots and began a career as a jewelry designer.

By 1989, Sherman opened her namesake store in Beverly Hills, which specialized in sterling silver jewelry. Over time, she added gold and diamond jewelry, as well as offering jewelry design and repair services.

Sherman also created a line of Zina clothing made from Thai cotton and silk.
