Lia Sophia is a jewelry brand owned by the company of the same name. In the 80-2000s, the company worked in the US and Canada markets, using the direct sales method to sell its products, as well as the world-famous Avon company.
The firm was opened in 1986 by Wood Dale entrepreneur Victor Kiam on the basis of the direct sales company ActII he bought. It was a small jewelry production, called Lady Remington. For less than 20 years, the company has been growing every year, turning by the early 2000s into a small empire for the production and sale of exquisite costume jewelry.
In 2004, the business was taken over by Victor Kiam’s son Tori. The new owner renamed Lady Remington. From now on, the company became known as Lia Sophia in honor of the daughters of the owner.
The new name was liked by the public and sales of fine jewelry continued to grow. In 2008, the firm partnered with 27,000 female independents who sold more than $100 million worth of Lia Sophia jewelry in a year.
Despite the popularity of the Lia Sophia brand in the US Canada, the firm could not survive the economic crisis of the 2010s, announcing its closure in 2014. The decision was unexpected, as Lia Sophia has earned an excellent reputation over the 28 years of its activity. Her original jewelry won the hearts of thousands of fans.
Not surprisingly, almost immediately after the production of Lia Sophia was stopped, all the brand’s jewelry began to be in demand among collectors.
